New York Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (NYCAN)
Member of New York Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (NYCAN), which successfully persuaded New York City Council to adopt comprehensive legislation in 2021 calling on NYC to divest its pension funds from nuclear weapons, reaffirming the city's status as a nuclear-weapons-free zone, and aligning NYC with the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).
International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN)
Member of the ICAN team awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017 for our work "to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences" of nuclear weapons and our "ground-breaking efforts to achieve" the TPNW. I have co-coordinated ICAN's faith-based engagement in meetings during the TPNW negotiations, the United Nations General Assembly First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) and Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) since 2014.

I served as Vice Moderator and Acting Moderator of the Commission on International Affairs (2015-2023), acting as a key coordinator for international advocacy on peace and justice issues for Protestant and Orthodox churches worldwide. I was chair of the Nuclear Disarmament Working Group, central liaison ICAN. Facilitated a meeting between North and South Koreans in Hong Kong and participated in solidarity visits supporting peace building and human rights in Sri Lanka, Myanmar/Burma, China, Cuba, South Africa, Australia, Jordan, Ethiopia, Colombia and West Papua.
